Your new role:

• Lead, build and empower a high performing team, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages open communication and knowledge sharing.
• Promote a culture of safety and sustainability. Ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards.
• Drive an awareness of sustainable design practices within the team, ensuring standards and guidelines represent value for money, fit for purpose, industry acceptable solutions.
• Oversee the creation and integration of an engineering program of work to maximise the capital framework, by identifying the challenge and implement opportunities to improve program strategy and engineering delivery.
• Lead the monitoring of key performance indicators related to project quality by leading the coordination with the Capital Delivery Team and Engineering Team.
• Work closely with business partners including Lead Design Managers and other engineering leads to meet customer needs and maintain and build strong relationships across the organisation.
• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in engineering delivery processes. Champion a culture of service excellence within the team.
• Work closely with the business stakeholders including Asset sponsors, Capital Delivery Portfolio Managers, Lead Design Managers and other engineering leads to meet the program/project needs.

As the single point of contact for engineering from different stakeholders, this will be an integral leading role within the engineering team ensuring the projects are delivered to compliance and safety in design standards, you will need the following to be successful:

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Project Management, Business Management or a related area would be desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in large Program/Project Management, Design Management and Technical writing.
• Extensive experience in leadership with a proven ability to build and lead high performing teams.
• Experience in sustainable engineering practices and familiarity with industry standards and guidelines.
• Recognition of discipline expertise by Engineers Australia is essential.
