'Polycrisis' response considered
Humanity is confronting its greatest emergency, experts say.
A global plan of action is urgently needed, according to a roundtable consisting of 30 international scientific and sustainability organisations.
The Roundtable on the Human Future has come together to develop a clearer, shared understanding of the dangers facing humanity and to agree on solutions to mitigate these threats.
The resulting report includes a series of recommendations, including the termination of fossil fuel usage, the creation of a ‘restoration economy’, and the initiation of an Earth System Treaty to combat the phenomenon the Roundtable terms the Polycrisis.
The Roundtable featured 30 leading international scientific and sustainability organisations, as well as distinguished thought-leaders on the human future.
The report outlines numerous solutions available at both local and global levels, which can enhance wellbeing and contribute to a safer, healthier, greener, and more sustainable world.
