Space project to boost weather and climate change monitoring
The Federal Government has announced a ‘world-class’ space research, project which aims to improve weather forecasting and understanding of climate change, will be funded by the Australian Space Research Program (ASRP).
The Greenhouse Gas Monitor project, led by Vipac Engineers & Scientists, is being funded through a $2.3 million grant from the ASRP.
Vipac will work with the Australian National University, the universities of Wollongong and Melbourne, the Bureau of Meteorology and Melbourne-based Rosebank Engineering.
The $40 million Australian Space Research Program is designed to develop Australia's niche space capabilities. For more information on the Program, visit www.space.gov.au.
