The opportunity:

You choose your working days and your location – base yourself in our Adelaide or Nuriootpa office – 3 or 4 days per week. Working amongst the magnificent vineyards, the WHSE Advisor will provide effective and efficient WHSE support to the business.

At AV&M, safety is our priority. This position will play a key role in ensuring our workforce has a strong safety culture and proactive safety practices.

We are looking for someone with a continuous improvement mindset and strong evaluation skills. Someone who is a true business partner to work with our operations team for the best outcomes. You will be a key member and subject matter expert within the WHSE Team, reporting to the General Manager WHSE and the General Manager AV&M. You will traverse some of the World’s best grape growing regions from Sunraysia to McLaren Vale.

About the job:

The WHS Advisor will:

  • Provide strategic and operational safety leadership, a role model in all ways
  • Maintain and improve the Safety Management Systems
  • Work with Vineyard Managers to develop risk awareness and a preventative culture
  • Develop and deliver innovative training and communication for capability building
  • Ensure reporting processes are timely and accurate
  • Maintain and review risks register and assessments
  • Assist in the development and implementation of guidelines and procedures
  • Assist in the identification and investigation of any hazards or incidents within the workplace
  • Develop and implement incident prevention strategies
  • Analyse and prepare data reports for Committees
  • Manage workplace injury claims and return to work plans

About you:

You are a seasoned practitioner who can balance an SMS within an operational remit, and pride yourself on the importance of a preventative behaviour led culture approach to safety. You are systematic, organised and outcome driven. You don’t mind spending time country driving (our geography is vast), you may have relevant industry experience, but if not, you have a keen interest in agriculture/viticulture.

You have relevant qualifications in Health, Safety, Environment or Quality related disciplines, hold a relevant auditing qualification, the ICAM lead investigator certification or equivalent, and competent in maintaining an accredited Safety Management System software.
