Job Description

As Landcape Architect within Council’s City Projects department you will assist in the delivery of professional, accurate and competent Urban Design and Landscape Architectural services to the City Projects department. You will work collaboratively with the City Projects teams to provide sound and professional advice in landscape architecture and urban design matters.

Additionally you will provide high quality graphic representations to assist with conceptual development and master planning documentation and with guidance, develop open space concept plans and detailed design documentation for landscape projects.

You will also:

  • Provide specialist advice in landscape architecture and urban design to relevant Council units 
  • recommend policy and improvement initiatives from an Urban Design and Landscape Architecture professional perspective
  • Develop and apply best practice in environmentally, socially and economically sustainable designs within various projects for the City of Stonnington

This is a temporary full time position with an annual salary range of $95,013 - $102,899 per annum + 11.5 % superannuation. 

We come together at least 3 days a week so we can collaborate in our vibrant office culture. When on-site you will enjoy modern and sustainable facilities and office spaces.

You are based within our bright, modern and sustainable 311 Glenferrie Road office on the corner of High Street and Glenferrie Road in Malvern where boutique stores, cafes and health clubs are in abundance. From the office you can easily walk to Malvern Gardens, High Street Armadale or Glenferrie Road. Malvern and Armadale Train Station are a short walk away and tram stops are out the front of the building.

 Desired Skills and Experience

To thrive in this role you have:

  • An extensive knowledge and application of landscape architecture and environmental management principles and practices 
  • A detailed knowledge of the relevant Acts, Regulations, Local Laws, Government and Council Policies relating to the environment and public spaces 
  • Sound knowledge and application of Urban Design /Landscape Architecture theory and best industry practice 
  • Strong skills and experience in graphic representation to communicate various concept, detailed and masterplan designs. 
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work at an individual and team level, within set timelines and in an environment of change and conflicting demands 
  • The ability to gain cooperation and assistance from clients, members of the public and other employees
