Job Description
As Senior Landscape Architect you will Lead design projects with the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team of Landscape Architects.
You will deliver high-quality projects, manage design consultants and coordinate multidisciplinary professionals.
To be suitable you have proven experience in public consultation and working with local communities in a landscape architecture environment, with an aptitude for project, contract and financial management.
You will also:
- Enhance organisation networks and provide specialist guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead design and project management processes for landscape and streetscape projects for the unit’s Capital Works program.
- Ability to utilise strong decision making skills in the delivery of landscape projects.
- Deliver high-quality projects, manage design consultants and coordinate multidisciplinary professionals.
- Assist in the management, tendering and evaluation of services across relevant Council projects, discovering opportunities for growth and improvement.
This is a temporary one year full time position with an annual salary range of $105,785 - $117,494 per annum + 11.5 % superannuation and an accrued day off each month.
We come together at least 3 days a week so we can collaborate in our vibrant office culture. When on-site you will enjoy modern and sustainable facilities and office spaces.
You are based within our bright, modern and sustainable 311 Glenferrie Road office on the corner of High Street and Glenferrie Road in Malvern where boutique stores, cafes and health clubs are in abundance. From the office you can easily walk to Malvern Gardens, High Street Armadale or Glenferrie Road. Malvern and Armadale Train Station are a short walk away and tram stops are out the front of the building.
Desired Skills and Experience
To be suitable for this role you have:
- Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role, mentoring technical staff.
- Excellent people skills with the ability to negotiate, influence and facilitate positive and cooperative working relationships to support a productive working environment.
- Proven experience in public consultation and working with local communities in a landscape architecture environment, with an aptitude for project, contract and financial management.
- An innovative and independent work practice with proven ability to set priorities, meet tight deadlines and problem-solve despite conflicting pressures.
- Strong project management skills with good understanding of governance and procurement processes
- Well-developed administrative skills with proficiency in industry-related financial, design and drafting software
- A strong understanding of landscape architecture policies and practices, and the unit’s contribution to broader organisational objectives
- A tertiary qualification in Landscape Architecture, or related field, together with demonstrated experience in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or similar environment.
