About the role:

We are presently in search of a Health, Safety & Environment Advisor, reporting to the Project Manager, to join our construction team at the Wagerup Power Station. In this role you will support health, safety, and environmental (HSE) services and counsel regarding their implementation within the project scope, encompassing plans, standards, and guidelines. Actively promoting the realization of the company's safety vision by adhering to established safety principles. Conduct system and compliance audits and monitor performance to drive ongoing improvement and ensure quality assurance.

In this role, you’ll be:

• Verify that suppliers and contractors adhere to requisite standards to ensure the safe execution of the project.
• Administer and support the implementation of drug and alcohol testing protocols and management.
• Perform investigations into incidents and recommend novel work systems.
• Execute HSE policies, procedures, systems, and comply with legislative requirements.
• Show dedication to HSE by collaborating with site teams to enhance safety leadership skills.
• Provide specialist advice, interpretation, and counsel to line management in all HSE matters.

Ideally, you’ll bring to the role:

• Degree or diploma in occupational health & safety or extensive relevant experience.
• Accreditation to conduct audits within an industrial workplace is desirable.
• Extensive experience with recognised expertise in an HSE environment.
• Experienced in construction and/or operational plant settings, with knowledge of behavioural-based HSE management programs and their implementation.
• Demonstrated success creating innovative HSE solutions to complex problems in a project environment.
• Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) construction and/or maintenance experience at commercial or utility scale level is desirable.
