WHS Advisor

About the Opportunity

As WHS Advisor, you will work closely with the company CEO and Operational leaders, contributing to the development and leading the implementation of the Safety (WHS) Management Strategy and System, actively coaching the business on how best to implement system requirements, oversee the management of Workers Compensation and Return to Work processes.

This role is based in Yarrawonga Victoria and reports to the National Operations Manager. 

Your responsibilities in this role will include:

• Contribute to the development of the WHS Management Strategy and System Development and execute implementation plans and associated tools for the business.
• Actively working with business leaders to build their knowledge and understanding of their accountabilities and system requirements.
• Monitor and report on WHS performance, proactively identifying opportunities to improve through risk reduction strategies.
• Provide functional support and guidance to managers and the Leadership Team on safety performance, developments, and procedural and legislative requirements.
• Manage significant incident investigation, reporting and preventative action process.
• Maintain the Yarrawonga Vic ISO45001 certified system.
• Regular support & annual trips to branches at Darwin NT, Mt Gambier SA, Longford Tas & Mildura & Robinvale Vic is a requirement of the role. 
• Actively support the business by ensuring that appropriate risk management tools are utilised across the business.
• Support branches with Environmental and ESG advice

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety or equivalent
• Experience in maintaining a certified safety system
• Relevant industry experience within a national or multi-site setting
• Strong influencing and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong logical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• In-depth and practical working knowledge of Australian workplace health and safety management systems and standards as well as Workers Compensation principles and practices.
