 Field Research & Development Specialist (Green-on-Green)

We’re on the lookout for an engaging Field Research and Development (R&D) Specialist to be based within the Toowoomba region (location flexible for the right candidate) reporting to our Green on Green Program Director; focused on innovation in broadacre cropping to lead our Green on Green Program extension in the region working across both the Nufarm and Croplands businesses in partnership with GDRC. Within this exciting role you’ll be working directly with emerging Green-on-Green technology, conducting, co-ordinating, developing and managing field research trials for the project and delivering extension activities across the internal sales team, customers and industry stakeholders.

What will you be doing? 

  • Initiating and implementing Field Research programs within the Queensland/New South Wales broadacre cropping zones through leading and managing the Research and Development component of Green on Green projects. This includes: 
  • Evaluating emerging Green-on-Green technology in the field and contributing to their algorithm development through targeted image acquisition
  • Evaluating broadacre crop protection products in the field to determine efficacy, crop safety, technical fit, and commercial potential within the GoG program
  • Creating written scientific reports upon trial completion to meet key GRDC milestones and also for submission to the APVMA to support product registrations. 
  • Conduct technical product training sessions for Nufarm and Croplands Sales staff in relation to the GoG technology and associated use patterns
  • Participation and leading at industry field days, research days and workshops.? 
  • Build strong highly valued technical relationships with key identified contacts locally and across Australia including GRDC, Grower Groups etc.

What do you bring? 

You’re a qualified Agricultural professional who brings experience conducting scientific field trials; and knowledge of Broadacre crops.?You’re knowledgeable about crop protection?and you're?driven by continuous improvement in field.
