Assistant Director – Funding & Revenue Branch

Who we are
The branch is the 'policy' arm of Finance Division. Our work requires public service professionals in administrative, policy and financial roles that come together under the leadership of our directors. We are the perfect place to come if you are a policy, operational, administrative or financial officer who is looking to add some corporate experience to your resume. Our work is often high profile and we often get to engage directly with the department's external stakeholders including industry, representative groups and our Ministers. The branch is responsible for leading and delivering cost recovery services and advice, external budgets and costing support, portfolio engagement on financial matters, levies policy and administration and levies compliance functions

An Assistant Director within the Funding & Revenue branch will support the delivery of the branch’s actions and activities. They will assist their respective Director to deliver on actions and activities within their relevant section of the Funding and Revenue Branch. The Funding & Revenue Branch provides services related to: 

  • Cost recovery. 
  • Agricultural levies compliance and administration. 
  • External budgets. 
  • Finance portfolio engagement. 
  • Revenue assurance. 
  • Finance transformation. 
  • Finance training.

The Job
We are currently looking for broad financial or compliance talent to fill current and potential future vacancies within the Funding & Revenue Branch. Working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams you could be part of the exciting work program to deliver the forward work plan for the branch. Individual role profiles are available upon request. Some of the current roles we have available include: 

  • Assistant Director, Finance Transformation: Apply your knowledge and skills to assist the Director Finance Transformation in the delivery of the Financial Management Transformation Action Plan focussing on three central capability themes of Capability Building, Financial Governance and Financial Architecture. 
  • Assistant Director, External Budgets: Oversee the department’s Budget estimates and systems, including the development of the Portfolio Budget Statements and Portfolio Additional Estimates Statements. The Assistant Director may also be a central liaison point for the Department on all external budget and finance related matters.
  • Assistant Director, Cost Recovery: Apply your finance, policy or program management skills and work collaboratively to support management and continual improvement of the department’s cost recovery arrangements in exports or imports.
  • Assistant Director, Business Analyst and Financial Modeler: Apply your business analytic skills to develop a bottom-up activity-based cost model providing additional assurance with evidence-based and data-driven analysis over the cost recovery arrangements.
  • Assistant Director, Finance Portfolio Engagement: Apply your knowledge of the Commonwealth Budget process and stakeholder engagement skills to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the Department and portfolio entities.
