About the Project:

The project is an “off-river” development located adjacent to the Macleay River situated in the New England Renewable Energy Zone. The project will provide up to 900MW of electricity generating capacity, with between 8 and 12 hours of dispatchable energy available to the NEM.

The project is well progressed through the planning phase with the project team having completed the majority of onsite surveys, and the Environmental Impact Statement is currently on public exhibition.

About the role:

Reporting to the Technical Director, the Civil Engineer will provide support in general administration, contract coordination, and supervision of design and engineering services for the Oven Mountain Pumped Hydro Storage Project. This includes early works like access roads, bridges, and camp site/utilities. Monitors and coordinates project engineering inputs from service providers to meet time, cost, quality, and compliance requirements. Collaborates closely with the delivery team and service providers (e.g., Owners Engineer, Principal Contractor for geotechnical investigations) to ensure project objectives are met.

In this role, you’ll be:

• Aid in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating civil and geotechnical engineering risks.
• Monitor project progress and help initiate corrective measures as needed to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion of engineering tasks.
• Offer advanced technical assistance for civil and geotechnical engineering endeavors as necessary.
• Develop and oversee project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of project tasks within designated timelines.
• Build and maintain productive internal and external relationships to facilitate the delivery of the project.

The successful candidate will bring to the role:

• Experience with Pumped Hydro Storage Projects is highly desirable. 
• Tertiary degree in Civil Engineering.
• Have a positive skills assessment from Engineers Australia – Professional Engineer (Civil)
• Excellent communication skills.
• Have extensive experience as a Project Engineer.
