About the role 

  • Support delivery of CDP, NGERS, APCO and Annual Sustainability Reporting requirements
  • Continuously improve the Group’s sustainability disclosures to be in line with Australia and global reporting standards (e.g. GRI, TCFD, ASRS)
  • Management of third party environmental and sustainability advisors and auditors
  • Undertake research and provide advice on current, new, and emerging sustainability regulations and trends
  • Optimise and continuously improve sustainability reporting systems and processes
  • Integrate independent assurance over key metrics contained within the Group’s annual sustainability and modern slavery reports
  • Undertake data analysis and establish KPI’s to monitor and drive sustainability performance across key focus areas including packaging, waste, recycling, emissions, and supply chain
  • Help support the identification, monitoring and management of the Group’s key climate-related risks and opportunities
  • Optimise the Group’s systems and processes to enable the on-going measurement and monitoring of scope 3 emissions
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to develop and work toward scope 1,2 and 3 emission reduction targets
  • With stakeholders to develop a Group approach to improving consumer awareness around energy efficiency
  • Assist with developing an approach to decarbonising the Group’s supply chain
  • Review private label packaging to ensure alignment with the Group’s ethical sourcing policy
  • Ensure compliant ARL (Australian Recycling Labelling) across all private label branded product
  • Work with suppliers to ensure alignment with the National Sustainable Packaging Guidelines
  • Develop sustainability training for internal and external stakeholders across key focus areas such as packaging, waste, emissions, and ethical sourcing
  • Assist with internal communications and committee reporting relating to sustainability performance and progress

About you

  • 3+ years of experience within sustainability advisor role with exposure to sustainability, CDP and/or APCO reporting
  • Data analytics and report writing experience essential 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. sustainability, environmental management)
